BEN BYRNE
Australian laptop/electronics musician.
He will be doing a solo set using laptop and electronics (quite terse/minimal but often loud material focused on created psychoacoustic effects for the listener) as well improv sets while overseas so it would be keen to do either.
Based in Sydney, has organised numerous series/events and gallery shows as well as most recently the Liquid Architecture 8 Festival of Sound Arts (liquidarchitecture) and the upcoming Electrofringe 2007 festival (electrofringe). As a musician, has played throughout Australia both solo and in various groups and improv combinations including The Splinter Orchestra (a 30+ piece improvising ensemble). sounds from Ben Byrne
MAURO MARTINUZ
Mauro Martinuz is an italian musician. He started to play solo performances 2 years ago, getting inspired by ambient and minimalistic music (like Eno and Riley). There is no real structure in his compositions but a continuous overdubbing of walls of sound generated from the electric guitar. The different sequences are linked together by field recordings and noises generated by contact-microphones. Using just electric and acustic guitars, a violin bow and pedal effects, he creates his own sound full of random melodies and minimal beats obtained by beating the pick-ups.
